Overview

Kathie Fitzpatrick, a Baby Boomer, was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she enjoyed all the local color and beauty, from family vacations to beaches in northern California to exploring the area's now-famous landmarks. Some of her favorite memories include her father, Henry, taking her to lunch at the famous Cathay House in Chinatown when she was a little girl, her mother, Ruby, taking her and her siblings to the historic "Playland at the Beach," where the famous 18-foot character, the "laughing Sal," greeted everyone who arrived, to the San Francisco Zoo and Golden Gate Park.
