Overall Feedback:
Run for Your Life from ASAC and NOVI Homes!
If you are considering becoming a client of ASAC and NOVI Homes, I strongly advise against it based on our terrible experience with this builder. It is crucial not to be swayed by the supposedly positive reviews you may come across, as many of them appear to be fake. The reality is far from what these reviews claim. In fact, we are currently facing the distressing prospect of being rendered homeless due to the actions of this builder. Iwill share some specific incidents we have encountered, supported by evidence such as email correspondence, text messages, and photographs. Our initial interaction with this builder began in December 2021, and we finally signed our contract in February 2022.
* Unjustified Time Extension: Without any contractual provision, this builder added an additional three months to our build when we decided to involve a private inspector. They even attempted to prevent us from hiring a particular inspector of our choice.
* Lack of Transparency and Communication: Sri and Anthony, the individuals responsible for overseeing the project, exhibited a complete lack of transparency and communication. No formal updates were provided regarding the timeline for each stage. Sri was absent for six weeks while visiting India, during which there was no communication, and Anthony was away for over three months. Construction did not commence at the site until August, and it took more than five months to obtain a building permit to begin work.
* Building Permit Discrepancies: It is important to note that ASAC Homes does not possess the necessary building permit to construct homes. They have partnered with NOVI Homes, who are responsible for the actual construction of our house. Anthony and Sri have now ceased responding to our inquiries about the completion of the project. Consequently, we are at the mercy of (Con), an individual working for NOVI Homes, who appears to consider completing the house as a personal favor.
* Failure to Meet Promised Deadlines: Despite the three-month extension granted due to our involvement of a private inspector, the project remains unfinished, and no formal communication has been provided regarding the delay. We were assured that the project would be completed prior to the agreed-upon deadline. We had already informed our landlord of our departure and had arranged for a new tenant to move in soon. Moreover, our arrangements for childcare for our daughter and the start date of my new job have been significantly disrupted.
* Lingering Defects: Five months after the Lock-Up stage was completed, two significant defects have yet to be rectified. We have been subjected to a constant stream of excuses from the builder, causing further frustration and disappointment.
* Breach of contract terms: Despite the presence of a clearly outlined contract specifying one of the upgrades, they haven’t completed it and they gave the option of refunding $500, even though the lowest bid to complete the job amounts to $2000. The level of dishonesty exhibited by this builder is unbelievable.
There are numerous other issues we have encountered with this builder, and my husband who has been more closely involved, can provide additional details
